Tospeak (“we”, “us”) runs the website at tospeak.ai. This page explains, in plain English, what we do and do not do with your data.
What we do not collect
- We do not record your camera or microphone. Both stay on your device and are streamed in real time to the avatar provider only while a lesson is active. Nothing is saved on our side.
- We do not track you across the web. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no fingerprinting.
- We do not require you to register or share personal information to use the site.
What we collect
- Standard server logs. When you load a page, our server records the request (IP address, page, timestamp, browser). We use this only to keep the service running and debug problems. Logs are rotated and not used for profiling.
- Aggregated usage analytics. We may use a privacy-friendly analytics tool (such as Plausible) that counts page views and lesson starts without cookies and without identifying individual users.
- What you say during a lesson.Your speech is transcribed by your browser’s built-in Web Speech API (Google’s service) and the resulting text is sent to Anthropic to generate the tutor’s reply. We do not store transcripts on our own servers.
Who processes your data
We rely on a small number of vendors. Each is bound by their own privacy terms.
- Anthropic— generates the tutor’s replies. The text of your speech is sent to their API. See anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
- LiveAvatar / HeyGen — renders the avatar video. Receives the text the tutor should say. See heygen.com/policy.
- Google Web Speech API — converts your spoken words to text. Built into your browser; not something we integrate directly.
- DigitalOcean — hosts our servers.
Children
The product is appropriate for learners of all ages, including children, and is positioned as a learning tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your rights
You may request a copy of any personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to processing. Email support@tospeak.ai and we will respond within 30 days.

We will update this page when our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version.
